		<description>You're right Nigel. There are some great student blogs out there already - yours included - maybe it's the fact that it's all wrapped up with assignments etc. 

And I agree with the facebook thing. Maybe the University should turn it off for lent.</description>

There are some students that are taking to blogging very well.The best thing that the university could do in this respect is to block network access to facebook

But joking apart,blogging is very important for students.In an age when the degree is becoming less significant in differentiating between potential employees,blogging is one way in which students can demonstrate their capabilities.
Secondly it is alos a very good way of making contacts in the area in which you want to specialise.It gets you noticed.
